Eli Bucks are Yale dining credits applied to your Yale University ID card. Eli Bucks give students, faculty, and staff a convenient way to purchase meals at Yale eateries across campus, eliminating the need to carry cash or credit cards.
To use Eli Bucks, simply present your Yale University ID card at the time of purchase. Non-Yale individuals (such as family members) can add Eli Bucks to a Yale affiliated party’s Yale University ID card. Purchases made with Eli Bucks are not taxed.
Eli Bucks can currently be used at The Bow Wow, Café Med, Charley’s Place, Commons, Elm & Ivy, McNay Café, The Refectory at Divinity, Steep Café, and West Campus Café, in addition to residential dining halls for those who have access.*
Additional Eli Bucks can be purchased at any time, in any amount by active students, staff, and faculty with a valid Yale University ID. If your status with the University does not change, your Eli Bucks will not expire and will carry forward from year to year.*
Eli Bucks purchases can be completed by credit card, using our secure payment site. Log in to the Eli Bucks secure portal to purchase, view your current balance, look up recent transactions, or manage your account in other ways.
*Purchasing Eli Bucks does not grant gate access to residential colleges. To enter a college other than your own, you should be accompanied by a college resident student who can provide access.
*Should you have a remaining balance upon leaving the University, please be sure to request a refund.
