West Campus Café

The West Campus has become an everyday part of Yale with a bustling community of scholars now reaching over 1600 residents.  The dining program is designed to complement these programs; the open kitchen allows diners to view food as it is being prepared and encourage interdisciplinary networking among students, visitors and researchers.

Yale’s West Campus straddles the West Haven-Orange line, just off I-95 exit 41. The Campus is home to Yale School of Nursing and seven research institutes focused on scholarship in health, culture, energy and the environment.

West Campus accepts Eli Bucks and credit cards (cashless).

Menus

Breakfast offers à la carte items, while lunch features a $8.00 lunch special, which includes salads, bread, a daily hot entrée, a drink and dessert. Choose from a daily selection of soups, flatbreads, and —unique to the West Campus menu — a vertical salad bar. Also available are freshly brewed fair-trade coffee and teas, and crafted barista drinks.

West Campus Farm

The landscape is also home to the West Campus Farm and meandering nature trails. The farm spans over 30 acres of land, with a quarter-acre being dedicated to hosting raised-bed gardens and a greenhouse. The additional areas of the land is filled with nature trails, orchards, grassland, and other natural spaces. Farm & Landscape Integration Manager, Jordan Williams (double duty as the cafe manager as well) brings his expertise on permaculture techniques to keep sustainability at the forefront of efforts. What’s growing? Currently, the raised beds have a variety of spinach, collard greens, cabbage, bok chou, sweet potatoes, squash, okra, corn, tomatoes and many pollinating species to name a few.
