Whether or not you have dietary requirements, food intolerances, or allergies – it’s important that you navigate safely throughout shared dining spaces and maintain safe environments for all. You’re in charge, so please use the resources available to you! Learn more about how our registered dietitians and chefs can meet with you one-on-one for customized support.

At Yale, food plays a significant role in fostering a sense of community and belonging. The 14 iconic residential dining locations, Commons at Yale Schwarzman Center, and various cafes serve as spaces where you can connect with classmates and friends. Explore Meal Plans

  • Not sure you have the right meal plan? Hear from some current students on what works best for them and why! With 14 dining halls and 10+ cafes on campus, there are so many options to choose from - and we’re always here to help.
  • Need to make a change? Students have the opportunity to update Fall 2023 semester meal plans via the Yale Hub.

Fall Opening Schedule

  • Aug 27: All 14 residential college dining halls reopen for brunch and dinner
  • Aug 28: Standard service begins in all college dining halls
  • Aug 28: The Bow Wow, 10:30am - 4pm (Mon - Fri) and Ramen, 10:30am - 3pm (Mon - Fri) reopen; Elm returns to 8am - 8pm schedule
  • Aug 29: First Year Dinner in respective colleges (5pm-7:30pm), Upperlevel Student Dinner in Commons (5-8pm)
  • Aug 30: Commons reopens with standard 11am - 3pm schedule (Mon - Fri) 
  • Sep 4 (Labor Day): Weekend schedule in all college dining halls
  • Sep 5: Ivy reopens, 5pm - 10pm (Mon - Fri)
  • Sep 6: The Well reopens, 5pm - 11pm (Wed - Fri)

  • Label Check: Every menu item features allergen icons to help you safely navigate the dining halls and dine with confidence
