Welcome

Dear Yalies,

We hope you had a fun and rewarding summer! On behalf of the Yale Hospitality team, welcome – and welcome back – to your home away from home here at Yale. We can’t wait to see all of you!

Food Safety For All
First things first, we are underscoring the importance of food safety. As you get settled in and familiarize yourself with various dining locations, please be mindful of the allergens displayed on menus and avoid cross-contamination for your safety and that of your friends. When in doubt, always ask for what you need! Learn more about how our registered dietitians and chefs can meet with you one-on-one for customized support.

Take In the Experience
The first few weeks of arrival can be hectic but remember that we are here for you throughout the entire process. We have a ton of exciting foodie events and programs centered around food that is ‘better for you’ and ‘better for the planet.’  Stay tuned to your emails to learn more about upcoming opportunities.

The meal periods and dining experience are core to student life at Yale. The 14 iconic residential dining locations, Commons at Yale Schwarzman Center, and various cafes provide many opportunities for you to immerse yourself in what residential education is all about – diversity, equity, inclusion, and ultimately, belonging at Yale.

Nourishing You
This summer, a team of executive chefs and registered dietitians worked diligently on designing culturally inspired, nutritious, and delicious menus to promote health and wellness for people and the planet.

There are so many more details we’d like to share with you. To get you started, explore the helpful tips below so you can dine with confidence as you get settled in. Please always feel free to share feedback with us.

We are delighted to be part of your Yale experience!
